Welcome to the AHCT Website

Welcome to the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa! Months in the making, we hope that you will find our new Web site full of useful information, easy to navigate, and a great resource for arts and humanities education programs throughout Tulsa County.

Since 1961, the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa has provided area youth and adults with outstanding educational opportunities. Our longest-running program, Artists-in-the-Schools, began in 1963 and today reaches more than 120,000 youth from mostly at-risk and underserved communities each year.

We are currently developing plans for a new Visual Arts Center in the Brady Arts District in downtown Tulsa. This new facility will offer us the opportunity to enhance our current arts education programs with dedicated classroom, gallery, and studio space.

We also offer a number of special events each year including the Harwelden Awards in May, Oklahoma Chautauqua in June, the Art of Barbeque in July, and the Harwelden Murder Mystery in August.

Finally, as a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, the Council depends on the financial support of individuals, corporations, and foundations for its existence. Please consider supporting the Council. Your participation is critical to our success.

Thanks for visiting our site. Please check back often for updates. And be sure and sign up for our online newsletter so that you can stay current with what’s happening at the Council, your resource for arts and humanities programming.

Best regards,

Ken Busby
